Hey, I'm Michael,
Iâm an artist, educator, and the author of the FORCE drawing book series. For over 25 years, Iâve been passionate about helping artists bring their drawings to life through the principles of Forceâa method I developed to capture the energy, rhythm, and storytelling behind every pose. My approach isnât about copying what you see, but about understanding why a pose exists and how to express it with power and clarity.
Throughout my career, Iâve had the opportunity to teach at some of the worldâs top art institutions like ArtCenter College of Design, CalArts, and School of Visual Arts, and Iâve worked with amazing companies including Disney, Pixar, Marvel, DreamWorks, and Nickelodeon. These experiences have shaped the way I teach and draw, always focusing on the artistâs ability to see and feel the Force in every subject.
Drawing is about more than just anatomy or structureâitâs about telling a story with every line. Whether itâs through my books, online courses, or live workshops, my goal has always been the same: to guide artists toward creating more dynamic, expressive, and emotionally resonant work.Â
